Why I built BackOnTools, and what it means to me
Three of my five brothers are tradies. A chippy, a sparky, and a plumber. I grew up watching them work: early starts, long days, hands that never stop moving. They're brilliant at what they do. But the one thing that always got them was the phone.
It rings while they're on the tools. They can't answer. The customer hangs up and calls the next tradie on Google. The job's gone. They don't even know what they missed.
I watched that happen for years. Then I started seeing what AI could really do for small businesses. Not the big end of town. Not corporates. Real people running real businesses. And it clicked: a tradie should never have to choose between doing the job in front of them and answering the call that pays for the next one.

Will it sound like a robot?
Ring one of the demo lines and judge it yourself, that is why the numbers are there. It is tuned per trade, speaks Australian English and takes the details the way a good office person would. 779 calls have been answered on those lines.
